My road to weightloss has taken a little detour

But it is happening for a very good reason: I recently found out I’m pregnant :)  So instead of trying to lose weight, I will now be focusing more on not gaining any more than I have to, and getting rid of some bad habits.  This will include: eating well balanced meals, exercising daily, cutting out diet sodas (this is a toughie) and drinking more water (another toughie).

I will admit though, I am a little frusterated with the fact that I am 40 lbs overweight and pregnant.  I know I shouldn’t be, but I delivered my first child at what I weigh now, so it’s a little scary for me to think about how huge I will get!  Maybe it’s just my hormones making my emotions run wild, lol!  I have known for about a week now and have already gained two lbs due to my bingeing (Though I would like to think it’s really beacuse of my new huge boobs!)  I am looking at this as an opportunity to eat whatever I want and that is very unhealthy. I am sure to blow up that way!  I was reading that the average pregnant woman only needs about 300 extra calories a day to nourish her baby and this is only in the second and third trimesters.  So I am going to try and stay within my maintaining range of calories and lessen my cardio some.  I will try that for a week or two, make sure I’m not losing or gaining too much and than adjust accordingly.

 Have a nice weekend buddies!

I am not a Dr or anything, but I read once that there are certain times you can get or lose fat cells…when you are pregnant or in adolescence.
My sister was a very overweight child/teenager, but she just had a baby at 40…
she kept her weight down…and now she is a normal weight…she looks great! She had a nutritionist work with her…so you may check with your Dr about that…
The more fat cells, the harder it is to lose weight…
it is a great opportunity to reset your body!

Congratulations. I am sure you will do fine with your weight. I have know people who weighed less when the baby was born than when they got pregnant because they were making good choices. Good luck with that.

Congratulations Jennifer! that is wonderful. I know you are concerned because of your weight but don’t let that get in the way of being healthy for both of you. As Chrisie said the doc will be able to help you with that. A BABY! I’M JEALOUS! Maybe you will end up like me, I have 4 girls, oh! did that discourage you? I don’t see why, girls are easy right? And pigs don’t have a snout, lol!Luv Ya sista!

Congratulations, that’s great! I know absolutely nothing on weight loss and pregnancy but like Chrisie said, talk to your doctor about your concerns.
