Well, Starting Over Yet Again
Well I haven’t logged on in a while and I am now officially at my highest weight ever! I started eating healthier and working out last Sunday and am down 4lbs already, so I am on the right track.
It always seems like I do well the 1st week or two and then I quit. When I told my fiance last week that I was starting back on my “diet,” he rolled his eyes and said “I just wish you would stick with something.” Now, don’t misinterpret that! He has been so super supportive through all my weight struggles. Everytime I say I want to try the latest miracle diet pill or cream or whatever, he has been the one to whip out the credit card. I now have 5 bottles of diet pills in my cabinet that I spent money on and have never finished. So I know he is right. It seems like every other week I want to try something new and I can see why he is getting frusterated with me. I’m gonna show him this time…
I did reach one of my 2008 resolutions though! I walked/ran my very 1st 5k last month! It was amazing, and now I’m totally addicted! My ultimate goal is to run a whole marathon next February! I have started walking/running 3 miles every morning M-F with the dog, and then doing a 2 mile walk with the dog after dinner. I am starting a marathon training program in August to prepare me for the biggie in February. I’m very excited
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
I know how it is to start, then stop, and never finish. I’m just starting over today too, so I completely understand the motivational issues. I really hope you are doing this for yourself, and not your fiance though. When you said you were going to show him this time, it just made it sound like you weren’t doing it for yourself. I know how hard it is to stick to a lifestyle change. It’s so easy to fall back into old habits, but even easier if you aren’t changing for yourself. I wish you the best of luck and hope you will succeed!
JENNIFER!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you are back! I missed ya….You are still on my buddy list. I started back a month or so ago and I am loving it
No Celia, I am definitely doing this for myself. I am not only a quitter when it comes to my lifestyle change, but in many other aspects of my life. For instance, I just recently dropped out of school, for no other reason than just pure laziness. My excuse for that was “I don’t have time to study” and I would say this as I was watching T.V. So it really is time to stick with something for once. I am trying not to think about the whole process as “losing weight” but more like getting my body ready to run my 1st marathon in February. I’m sure the weight will come off, but I don’t want to become obsessed over it.
You’re training for a marathon… hmm… I don’t think there’s going to be much of a problem with the weight coming off.
As far as I’m concerned, Running and Excited are two words that should not be in the same sentence together. Unless of course the excitement is caused by a hungry bear chasing you. That’s allowable.
Actually I’m excited for you because it gives me a glimpse into my future weight loss. Yay!
Good luck!
u are beautiful good luck with ur goals
